Like a Flower
God painted your life like a flower
With rich and beautiful hue,
From a silent, empty canvas
He painted a purpose for you.

He painted the clouds over blue skies
So you’d gain life from the rain
He painted with strokes, oh so gentle,
The storms and the joy and the pain.

He painted His light over shadow
Soft strokes, resplendent and bright,
Without the pain of the dark days,
Would your roots seek the love of his light?

With colors you’d never imagine,
He still paints each petal with care,
‘Til your soul unfolds like a flower,
With fragrant beauty, tender and rare.
