Shimmers for Your Soul

A river flows through time
So raging and alive
Around our hopes and prayers
And dreams that have survived.

Never pass the moments,
The shimmers for your soul—
Like flickers of a firefly
Or cottonseeds that blow.

Gather them like pearls
To treasure in your heart
Tuck them safely there
Inside the tender part.

Tuck them gently in
Before they blow away,
Before the currents flood
Into another day…

A river flows through time
So raging and alive,
With shimmers for your soul
The River ever guides…
