Smiling

I wanted to remember the moment
When the sun shone warm on my face
When Life wrapped warm arms around me
And I savored its joyous embrace…

I wanted to remember the moment
When I felt only joy and such peace
And laugh lines were my adornment
With Love etched in each crease.

I wanted to remember the moment
When smiling was all I could do
When words forever were silenced
By the smile I was smiling for you.

I wanted to remember the moment
When the wind had carried our sighs
And Love tip-toed so softly
To smile at me through your eyes…
