The Burning House

Love was once the flame
that kindled in our home
desire was never tame
laughter, so well-known

But Love gave way to kids
and trying to make a life
how did we come to this
with so much spreading strife?

Now the flame that burns
is havoc to our hearts
Embers of our rage
are causing us to part

Storms of wrath consume
and set this house afire
How did we come to this
from the flames of our desire?
